Carnaval is Happening on Friday!
The grade 9 French Students will be hosting Carnaval this Friday as part of their language and culture program. -There will be French Canadian traditional food and activities with most events taking place on DGS grounds. -Students are asked to bring their skates and helmets for a second walking field trip to the Cranston Community Centre for Skating and Winter Soccer. Notices will be coming home today and do not need to be signed and returned to school. Upcoming Assignment Due Dates Due Friday: Vocabulary for Social Studies Written Reader response letter (connections) Due Monday, March 3: Sky Science Web Quest, posted on student google Drives. (they are encouraged to work on this at home as well) -Please ensure you log on to home logic to choose your complimentary courses for next year. There will be NO forms going home for this and everything will be done online. -Deadline is February 25 to choose your complimentary courses for next year.
-Skating field trip to Century Hall on Tuesday, February 27th from 1:30pm-3pm. We will be walking to Century Hall. If you are skating you have to bring your own skates and CSA approved helmet. If not you are still welcome to participate and will engage in an alternate activity in the gym. Please have your forms in ASAP. -Weekly check-in on Tuesday February 20th. Sky science will focus on moon phases and information about the planet you may have studied for your sky science research project. Social will focus on Ancient Athens and decision making. There may be a question or two about the Iroquois Confederacy. Math will focus on fractions (proper, improper and mixed). Please take some time to review and study notes! Use the resource pages on our website for the specific subject to help you study- there is LOTS of information on these pages.
-No school February 15, 16 (Teacher's Convention) and February 19 (Family Day). Enjoy your long weekend! -Second group of mini book projects are due Feb 28th. Please ask you child if their mini book project is due this day. (Duhra's class only) Reminders:
