Three myths have to be analyzed (see previous post). Everything is on google drive so parents please ask your child to show you these (if you would like to double check if they have completed them:) 2) Page 2 -describing your hero and describing the setting (ordinary world) from our Hero's Journey/Myth Stories is due for tomorrow. 3) Tomorrow is the last day for in class time to finish planning for the Iroquois and Ancient Greece Charter project. ****Please see file below for full assignment details****
Greek Mythology Analysis and Narrative story writing.
Today we introduced a new assignment to write an illustrate a children's story based on themes commonly found in ancient greek mythology (posted on the learning updates page...). Students will plan out a story line through the cycle of the Hero's Journey which we examined earlier in the year. Homework for today: Read and analyze a minimum of 3 greek myths. Add to your chart (either from the Google Drive or on paper) the symbols, characteristics, theme and explanation found within each. Familiarize yourself with the themes listed on the assignment document.
It has been a busy week and students have a couple things that are due for next week. Please keep in mind students have had lots of time to complete these assignments in class and what hasn't been completed is now homework:

Vocab terms for this week were: chief, grand council, hiawatha wampum, and men/woman roles in Iroquois Confederacy Weekly check-in for Ms. Duhra's class is coming home on Friday. Please make your corrections (we went over the check-in during class already) and get check-in signed by a parent/guardian. |
