Please continue to practice basic computation with decimals (adding, subtracting, multiplication and long division) *Early next week we will be asking students to bring in a "detective notebook" (small to medium sized) for our Evidence and Investigation unit. Notebooks can be brought in from home or can be purchased from the dollar store.* Our expectations for Halloween are very much aligned with the CBE. We are aiming to honor the event, but also be mindful of learning and safety.
Costumes: For safety and security of all our students we are requesting students not bring masks, leave makeup at home as well absolutely no weapons (fake or otherwise). All costumes in the CBE need to be appropriate (no horrifically scary costumes that could cause problems for younger students and no overtly showy or provocative attire). Costumes will be permitted in the afternoon to allow normal, focused learning in the AM. Student will have time to change into costumes if they chose to dress up. Balancing Fun & Healthy Living: Part of our work this year is to promote healthy food choices, which align with our CBE regulations. Thus we are asking teachers and families to have conversations with students about what will assist them with their learning. We know that excess sugar can be harmful to productive days at school or at work. We will ask students to enjoy any treats during appropriate times to support learning, but also honor the occasion. -Please finish your tree "cookie tour" and take good notes on the six different conditions that impact tree growth. Click here to access the site to help you. You will use this information to analyze a "real" tree cookie and learn more about tree growth tomorrow! Don't fall behind on the research! Remember notes should include images (drawings), labels and notes!
